Tax Refunds not being claimed by up to 1.8 million workers

December 13, 2018

Recent Revenue reports have revealed that both PAYE and Self-Employed workers are failing to claim relief on medical and dental work.

Tax relief can be claimed on non-routine expenses, as well as GP fees, medicine, physiotherapy, hospital, and surgical fees.

The average refund for an individual over four years totals €494.

From January 1, workers will no longer be able to claim tax back from 2014 as there is a four-year limit on refunds.

All claims can be made using www.revenue.ie
